Researchers
The more research providers for Te Tiaki Mahinga Kai the better!
So far, research is being provided by Manaaki Whenua, the University of Canterbury, and the University of Otago, but we would love to expand this network.
Please contact us (contact at the bottom of the page) if you would like to get involved, by sharing your research or supervising students and practicum placements. Te Tiaki Mahinga Kai would be delighted to provide support and leverage to any researchers or institutions who are interested in contributing to the kaitiakitanga of mahinga kai.
The philosophy of Te Tiaki Mahinga Kai includes the sharing of scientific data and knowledge for the collective benefit of Tangata Whenua and Aotearoa’s environment. If you wish to use data from the Te Tiaki Mahinga Kai database, please contact us for approval. In return, the collective community expects data gathered by new partners to be contributed into the database for subsequent use of all other researchers and community members.
